What to do if your LED screen is hit by a rainstorm?

When facing heavy rain, we must take precautions to protect ourselves and avoid injury. So, in the summer when rainstorms are frequent, what protective measures should LED screen takes to withstand the onslaught of heavy rain? Below, we’ll offer some tips.

NO.1 High Quality
All LED screens, whether indoors or outdoors, have a fixed operating humidity range. Industry standards typically range from 10% to 60% relative humidity. When the relative humidity approaches or exceeds the display’s operating humidity standard, the screen must be dehumidified, or the power should be disconnected for inspection.

Because outdoor LED screens are used in open-air locations, unlike indoor displays which are “greenhouse flowers,” they are inevitably threatened by strong winds and heavy rain. Therefore, outdoor LED screens must have a protection rating of IP6 or IP5 or higher to withstand the “baptism” of heavy rain. How to deal with water ingress in an installed LED screen?

1. Use a fan or other tools as quickly as possible to completely dry the water-damaged LED screen.

2. After completely drying, power on the screen for aging. Specific steps are as follows:

a. Adjust the brightness (full white) to 10% and power on for 8-12 hours;

b. Adjust the brightness (full white) to 30% and power on for 12 hours;

c. Adjust the brightness (full white) to 60% and power on for 12-24 hours;

d. Adjust the brightness (full white) to 80% and power on for 12-24 hours;

e. Adjust the brightness (full white) to 100% and power on for 8-12 hours. After completing the above steps, the LED display screen will be largely restored to normal. However, the following points should be noted during the process:

01. Do not place a water-damaged LED screen in its flight case, as this can easily damage the LEDs.

02. If water enters the warehouse, the flight cases may also become waterlogged. All flight cases should be exposed to direct sunlight to prevent moisture from evaporating into the LED screen after loading.

03. Failure to promptly address water-damaged LED screens may affect their stability. During emergency repairs, the screen may experience intermittent LED failures after being powered on.

04. If a water-damaged LED screen remains in its flight case for more than 72 hours, it is essentially beyond repair. Please handle with extreme caution.
